Big Slide Mountain | 4,240ft

Big Slide - Adirondacks

Big Slide is the 27th highest mountain among the Adirondack 46 High Peaks. One of the most popular trails (the route we took) is via the Brothers. The Brothers are a group of 3 mountains you climb on your way to the Big Slide summit. This trail offers some great variety, with multiple viewpoints along the way. The summit offers clear views of the Great Range from a cool perspective.

Hiking Distance: 8 miles RT via The Brothers route

While the view is well worth the trip up, the trail up Goodman is also beautiful, weaving through hardwood forests and opening up to a couple of vistas along the way.

A shorter hike in the Tupper area, Coney boasts an expansive view (especially during fall foliage!), and is a great quick hike to take the kids on – for a fall lunchtime picnic on top, or as a morning hike in the summer before spending the hotter part of the day on the water.
