Whether you are a mountain biker in search of challenging single track or a cyclist looking for a new scenic route, there are several options to choose from. In recent years, more efforts have been made to expand Adirondack mountain bike trails and keep up on the maintenance of them. Multiple local organizations have had a major impact on the development of these trail systems in the Adirondacks across the region.

Featured Trail Systems
McCauley Mtn.
McCauley Mountain in Old Forge is a mountain bike haven, with 15 miles of professionally built trails and more being developed. The total descent is 2,077 ft with a vertical drop over 600 feet.
Wheelerville
Newly-constructed, biking and hiking trails in the southern Adirondacks. Affiliated with Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance and the Town of Caroga.
Hardy Road
The first mountain bike specific trail system built in the Adirondack Park. Eleven miles of some of the sweetest single track east of the Mississippi traverse both sides of the picturesque Beaver Brook Valley.
The Flume
The Flume Trail Network is the original mountain bike destination in the Adirondacks' Whiteface Region. The lower trails are smooth and flowing. As you gain elevation on the shoulder of Marble Mountain the terrain becomes increasingly technical.
Craig Wood
3+ miles of machine-built trails. On the south side of the golf course lies Scott's Cobble, a defunct ski area that was abandoned in the 1970s. Craig Wood trails are owned by the Town of North Elba and are located adjacent to the Craig Wood Golf Course.
Lussi & Loggers
The Lussi Trails behind the Lake Placid Club golf course provide the highest concentration of single track and offer the easiest access from town. To add some East Coast old school tech-gnar to your ride, check out the Loggers Loops 1, 2 and 3 which get progressively harder and more technical as you go.
Dewey Mtn.
Features 5.5 miles of single-track mountain bike trails which happily co-exist with roughly 7.5 miles of XC ski trails . Difficulty ranges from cruiser to hardcore as riders ascend about 450 vertical feet to the summit, where they are greeted with views of the Saranac Chain of Lakes
Mt. Pisgah
Features a 5-mile network of fun and flowy trails for mountain bikers and other non-motorized uses. This is home to the region's only machine-built flow trail - The Cure - which is named, along with the rest of the trails, in recognition of Saranac Lake's unique history and culture.
Blueberry Hill
A 12-mile network of multi-use trails spread over 900 acres of town-owned property. The trails are a perfect balance of wide and rolling double track intertwined with technical and sometimes challenging single track.
Otis Mtn.
A 1940’s ski hill that has evolved into a challenging mountain bike, ski and trail running destination. The trails range in difficulty from lowland cruisers to technical, challenging climbs, as well as natural and man-made features.
Ausable Chasm
Ausable Chasm offers 25 miles of mountain bike trails for people of all abilities. easy beginner and intermediate loops are double wide trails, perfect for riding side-by-side with family and friends. The single track, advanced loop features steeper hills and narrow paths.
North Creek Ski Bowl
20km of mountain bike specific trails all located in North Creek’s Ski Bowl Park. Providing single and double-track trails, switchbacks, and some challenging climbs.
Garnet Hill
features 5 miles of new, dedicated single-track mountain biking trails in the Log House Area as well as an extensive network of pre-existing single-track trails, cross country ski trails and dirt and gravel roads.
Brant Lake Bike Park
A professionally built singletrack trail system designed specifically for mountain biking. The trails cover 5 miles over 200 acres, resulting in up to a 10 mile riding experience. It features a 1.3-mile climb, an unobstructed view of the entirety of Brant Lake, and a variety of trail surfaces.
Daniels Road
The 523-acre Daniels Road State Forest features designated mountain bike trails maintained by the Saratoga Mountain Bike Association.
Gurney Lane/Rush Pond
Gurney Lane also has a trail system for hiking, walking and a 22k mountain bike park - 15k of single-track and 7-km of double track trails. For more fun, check out Gurney South for new trails near Rush Pond.
Mt. Sabattis - Long Lake
The Town of Long Lake has opened Phase 2 of the Mt. Sabattis Mountain Bike Trail system, adding another 2+ kilometers of trails to the existing 2 kilometers of trails.
EAST BRANCH COMMUNITY TRAILS
A new multi-use, non-motorized trail system in the Town of Keene. The trails are located on county reforestation lands owned by Essex County on Route 9N along the Keene-Jay town line. The project is the result of a partnership between the Town of Keene, Keene Youth Commission and Barkeater Trails Alliance.

Barkeater Trails Alliance (BETA)
Builds, maintains, and advocates for a system of community and backcountry trails for ski touring and mountain biking in the greater High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park.
Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance (AFTA)
Is an all- volunteer group of mountain bikers dedicated to maintaining and developing trails in the greater Utica area and the Southern Adiondacks.
Upper Hudson Trails Alliance (UHTA)
Is aimed at planning, maintaining, and advocating for trails and trails infrastructure development for non-motorized, human powered recreation in and around the town of Johnsburg, NY and the Upper Hudson Region of the Adirondacks.
Saratoga Mountain Bike Association (SMBA)
SMBA is a non profit organization dedicated to fostering and protecting the mountain biking resources in the New York State Capital-Saratoga-Adirondack-Rensselaer County region.
